So Dad's making chairs at the Illinois State Fair this weekend. As celebrity endorsements go, I suppose this one isn't bad.

I've added everyone I could find over there. I'll probably be deleting this account when I think of it in a few months.

Pulp/Wold Newton types - My store picked up a large number of Edgar Rice Burroughs fanzines - ERBdom, ERBania, Burroughs Bulletin, etc - as part of a collection from the estate of a dedicated collector, many of them dating as far back as the early 60s. (Along with a lot of great early printings of ERB books - http://tinyurl.com/ERBCollection ) Anyone know of any good sites that cover these zines?

We Remember
Letter to Saint Peter
Let them in, Peter, they are very tired
Give them the couches where angels sleep.
Let them wake whole again to new dawns fired,
With sun not war. And may their peace be deep.
Remember where the broken bodies lie....
And give them things they like. Let them make noise.
God knows how young they were to have to die!
Give swing bands, not gold harps, to these, our boys.
Let them love, Peter, they have had no time -
They should have trees and birds songs, hills to climb,
The taste of summer in a ripened pear.
Tell them how they are missed. Say not to fear,
It's going to be alright with us down here.

I Have Surrendered to the Meme...
If there is at least one person in your life whom you consider a close friend, and whom you would not have met without the Internet, post this sentence in your journal.

"War wheels. Robot condors. You got a pretty goofy security system here."
"Yeah. Good times."
